How do we define a semiconductor? It's mainly made of materials with certain resistance (it is among that of a conductor and a non-conductor). Changes in temperature or used “impurities” also influence the resistance.

The word “dashes” refers to the other elements mixed to the material. Semiconductors are defined as thyristors of type-n and type-t according to the characteristics of final material.

Diodes and transistors are manufactured of these two types of semi-conductors. These days silicon is apparently appearing to be the most wide spread substance for manufacturing semi-conductors.

In order to send the process of electrical current in simply one sense diodes are applied. They are made of semi-conductor substance. In every diode there is a component made of positive and negative constructions (written as p- and n-) as well as of so-called barrier level (known as pn-transfer). Electrical circuits which change between alternating and direct current are produced with diodes. Only part of the period or cycle is to pass by as diodes make current flow just in one direction. Rectifier is the expression for such a combination.

LED (light diodes) is one more type of diodes. Such diodes are needed when it's important to create light at low voltages and eventually get no heat. These diodes are used in all units of contemporary electronic gadgets for example TV sets or audio systems specially to mark the standby state.

Moore's law led to the development of thyristors production. Lithography is the most significant side of manufacturing different power semiconductor gadgets at smaller cost. Because that optical lithography is already actual no more, there's now a search for alternate techniques. Today ultraviolet lithography and nano-imprint lithography are considered to stay the most suitable alternatives to optical one. (more…)
